Wise<\/a>, name partner in noted Chicago plaintiffs&#8217; law firm Wise Law Offices LLC, secured a $4.055 million settlement for a 44-year old carpenter and his wife in a workplace injury and product liability action. In Husa v. v. Midwest Access Services, et al., Mr. Wise&#8217;s client was an employee of Walsh Construction Company, contractor for \u00abThe Tides\u00bb luxury apartment complex in downtown Chicago. Walsh Construction was using a new safety product, called the Tabla System (manufactured by A-1 Plank and Scaffolding and distributed by Midwest Access Services) to provide shoring on the project. While the client was at work a panel of the Tabla system came unhinged and swung down, striking him in the back of the head and herniating two discs in his neck, which required a double fusion and implanting of a pain pump to deliver medication. After documenting and presenting the product liability issues involved, Mr. Wise reached a $4-plus million settlement with the construction company and the insurers of the Tabla System distributor and manufacturer, covering past and future lost wages, and past and future medical expenses. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Wise and other lawyers have successfully handled many such <a href=\"\/personal-injury\/\">personal injury \/ negligence<\/a> cases involving injuries sustained <a href=\"\/personal-injury\/\">workplace <\/a>settings, including those that involve <a href=\"\/product-liability\/\">product liability<\/a> issues.
