$9.3 Million Settlement for Surgical Error and Misdiagnosis<\/h1>\n

Our client was admitted to the hospital with end stage renal failure due to years of uncontrolled hypertension and was diagnosed with TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura). While placing a catheter for plasma exchange, a hospital resident punctured the client’s subclavian vein, causing internal bleeding that went undiagnosed. He became hypovolemic and suffered a stroke resulting in brain damage and quadriplegia and now requires 24-hour medical care. We secured a settlement to compensate for the hospital’s negligence and pay for the needed care.<\/p>\n
