$5.5 Million Settlement For Accident Technology Could Prevent<\/h1>\n

We represented a client who was walking home and trying to cross the street when he was struck by a truck. Its driver could not see him over the extended nose of his vehicle. Such vehicles have major blind spots, and our client was in one of them just as the driver accelerated. The accident caused injuries that included the loss of a leg and the lost use of his arm. We demonstrated that, if the truck had used one of the two collision avoidance systems that were commercially available, the accident could have been prevented. The trucking company agreed to a $5.5 million settlement for our client.<\/p>\n
