He suffered arterial damage that required orthopedic surgeries and grafting procedures. In addition to his $3.32 million settlement, the worker also received a $500,000 waiver of a workers&#8217; compensation lien. The settlement will help the man provide for his wife and two young children. The injury forced him to leave his trade and work in a factory. The construction negligence lawsuit claimed that the uncommon steel bridge \u2014 erected at the junction of Interstate 80 and Interstate 284 in south suburban Chicago \u2014 was not designed properly and that engineers and contractors working on the Illinois Department of Transportation project failed to stop construction to redraw the plans before continuing.<\/p>\n<h2>$3.32 Million<\/h2>\n<p>S. v.
