The infection, a condition termed infective endocarditis, caused our client to have an embolic stroke when infected material broke free of a heart valve, leaving him with severe physical, language and cognitive disabilities. We represented him in setting his malpractice lawsuit against the groups representing the doctors, securing $10.2 million (one of the largest settlements in Cook County during 2008) that was used to continue his rehabilitation and search for other ways for him to recover.<\/p>\n<h2>$10.2 Million<\/h2>\n<p>L. v.
